Cairo Cuisine: A Flavorful Adventure

We’re back with another mouthwatering installment of our Cairo food tour! This time, we dived deeper into the city’s culinary scene and discovered some truly unforgettable flavors.

Our taste buds were on overdrive as we sampled a variety of dishes. The falafel, a breakfast staple, had a unique twist with a creamy bean aftertaste. We couldn’t resist trying the ground cherry, a sour treat that even made the local news! Who knew we’d become accidental food influencers?

Next up was the Egyptian-style shawarma. While it shared some similarities with Turkish chicken, the addition of tahini gave it a distinctive flavor. We were completely blown away by malakia, a green soup with a taste as vibrant as its color. It was served with rice and bread, creating a perfect comfort food combination. Our culinary journey ended with kosher, a vegetarian delight packed with pasta, rice, chickpeas, tomato sauce, and lentils.
